Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be 18 years of age or older and reside in the KGAN/KFXA viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast stations KGAN/KFXA (the “Stations”), The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, Border View Lodge in Lake of the Woods, Minnesota, Kennedy Marine, Indian Creek Lure Company and Kyle’s Framing and Gallery (“the Sponsors”), their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one winner per household.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per contestant per week per IP address.
(b) To enter, log on to www.cbs2iowa.com or www.fox28iowa.com and click on the Fishing Foto Frenzy contest button. Fill out the online Upickem entry form with your name, address, age and phone, then upload a photo depicting yourself and your fish. Photo must be in jpeg format and up to 5mb in size. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted. No incomplete entries will be accepted.
(c) By entering, entrants represent and warrant (i) that they own the photograph submitted, (ii) it does not violate the rights of any third parties, (iii) the picture has not been altered or enhanced with any software (excluding redeye), and (iv) that they agree to the terms and conditions located at http://www.cbs2iowa.com/sections/station/legal/terms.shtml and http://www.fox28iowa.com/sections/station/legal/terms.shtml. No lewd, nude, or offensive photographs (as determined by the Stations in its sole and absolute discretion) will be accepted. The Stations reserve the right in its sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any entry.
(d) The contest starts on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10am CST and ends at 12pm CDT on Thursday, May 16, 2013 (the “Contest Period”). Each week during the Contest Period, entries will be received beginning at 12:00 a.m. CDT on Mondays and ending at 12:00 a.m. CDT on Fridays to qualify for the weekly judging. Stations are not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, or for printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.
(e) Each Friday during the Contest Period, all valid photo entries will be judged and scored by a panel of three judges based on 50% content (i.e., size and/or type of fish), and 50% creativity. Each judge will score each photo entry in the two categories on a scale from 1 to 100, with 100 being the highest. The photo entry with the highest total score from that week’s entries will be deemed the winner for such weekly contest period, for a total of ten (10) weekly winners. Remaining valid entries will carry over to the following weekly judging. On May 16, 2013, all weekly winning photo entries will be re-judged based on the same criterion set forth above to determine one (1) grand prize winner .
(f) Weekly winners will be announced each Sunday during the Contest Period beginning March 17, 2013 during KFXA 9pm newscast and during KGAN 10pm newscast with the final weekly winner announced Sunday, May 19, 2013. The Grand Prize winner will be announced Sunday, May 19, 2013 during KFXA 9pm and KGAN 10pm newscasts.
(f) All entries (including pictures) received that are mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries (including pictures) become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Stations and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize(s)
1. Ten (10) weekly winners will each receive a gift certificate from Kennedy Marine, Indian Creek Lure Company and Kyle’s Framing and Gallery valued at $25 each. One (1) grand prize winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from Kennedy Marine, a $25 gift certificate from Indian Creek Lure Company, a $25 gift certificate from Kyle’s Framing and Gallery, 3 nights’ accommodations (up to 6 beds as needed), including 11 meals per person for up to 6 people and 3 days of private charter fishing at Border View Lodge in Lake of the Woods, Minnesota, for a total value of $4,234. The trip package does not include transportation, gratuities, trip cancellation insurance, baggage fees, miscellaneous airline fees or any other expenses. The trip must be taken by December 31, 2013, is subject to reservation, availability, and blackout dates may apply.
2. Winners will be notified by phone. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within five (5) days of notification All persons traveling on the trip must be 18 years of age or over, unless travelers under 18 are accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian of all of the minors. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release which must be returned with the winner’s release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame specified above. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
3. If a winner cannot be notified within five (5) days, or does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited, and the prize will awarded to an alternate winner with the next highest score , as determined by the judges in their sole and absolute discretion.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
Winners are required to complete and return a W-9 form.
6. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any 6 day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
7. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
The Station, sponsors, and prize providers shall not be responsible for winner’s failure to take the trip within the time frame described above, or cancellation of the trip by the winner.
8. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
9. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
10. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Miscellaneous
1. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at KGAN/KFXA 600 Old Marion Road, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52402 or on the Stations websites at www.cbs2iowa.com and www.fox28iowa.com.
2. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to KGAN/KFXA 600 Old Marion Road, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402 by May 31, 2013.
3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, The Douglas Group, Inc., Border View Lodge in Lake of the Woods, Minnesota, Kennedy Marine, Indian Creek Lure Company and Kyle’s Framing and Gallery accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
4. Stations cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
5. Stations reserve the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
